Licht und Schatten
Dieses Jahr fand am 12.3. der 8. Drachenboot-Indoorcup in unserer Heimatstadt Dessau statt. Für uns Stromschnellen war es daher ein absolutes Muß und Vergnügen hier anzutreten. Dementsprechend viele Teammitglieder hatten ihre Teilnahme zugesagt. Weil auch die „Ehemaligen“ Jan und Djamel wieder mit dabei waren konnte Teamcaptain Carsten ganze 4 Teams anmelden. In der Klasse Fun Women starteten „Die schönen Stromschnellen“, in Fun Open „Die mutigen Stromschnellen“ und 2 Teams in der Klasse Fun Mixed – „Die wilden Stromschnellen“ und „Die stürmischen Stromschnellen“. Da sollte also keine Langeweile aufkommen. Zumal auch der Veranstalter vom Team „Dragon One“ 2 Boote stellte, was kurze Wechselzeiten versprach. Und so kam es dann. Kurze Wechsel und durchweg schnelle Rennen liessen die Veranstaltung eigentlich viel zu schnell vorrüber gehen. Alle Rennen wurden in ca. 4 1/2h „abgewickelt“.
Bei unserem Auftritt wechselten sich leider Licht und Schatten ab. Am Besten schnitten unsere „Die schönen Stromschnellen“ ab. In ihrer Klasse war ihnen kein Gegner gewachsen und sie holten sich Pokal und Urkunde für den 1. Platz. In einem Rennen mussten sie sogar ein zweites Mal ran, der erste Lauf wurde nicht gewertet. Die Männer von „Die mutigen Stromschnellen“ schlugen sich ebenfalls achtbar. Pokal und Urkunde für den 3. Platz in Fun Open war ihrer. Auch das Team „Die stürmischen Stromschnellen“ zeigte eine super Leistung gegen starke Gegner. In teilweise äußerst spanenenden Rennen mit Hin und Her erpaddelten sie sich einen super 4. Platz. Sie verpassten das Treppchen nur denkbar knapp nach einem Stechen. Leider gingen „Die wilden Stromschnellen“ total unter. Wir konnten da keinen einzigen Sieg einfahren und belegten in der Klasse Fun Mixed den 8. und letzten Platz. Teilweise mussten wir aber auch gegen Gegner ran, die sonst in Sport-Klassen fahren bzw. sich stark aus Sport-Teams verstärkten. Ein unsportliches Verhalten wie ich finde.
Nach dem ereignisreichen und erfolgreichen Nachmittag (und diesmal ohne einen einzigen Untergang!) ging es noch auf weitere schöne Stunden ans chinesische Buffet in Dessau-Alten.
